MUNCIE, Ind. - University of Cincinnati junior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) carded his best tournament finish of the spring season, tying for 11th place after carding a 75-70-76=221 Sunday at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State University. The two-day event was held at the Delaware Country Club (Par 70, 6,438 yards).

Tepe's finish was his second-best of the year, following a second-place finish in a playoff at the Bearcat Invitational in the fall season. His final round Sunday left Tepe 11 strokes behind tournament champion, Chris Malec of Louisville, who carded a 70-68-72=210.

Louisville led throughout the tournament to finish first in the team standing at 362-355-373=1090. The Bearcats ended the event in 11th place at 385-370-397=1152, tying Dayton (383-384-385=1152).

UC freshman Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) carded Sunday's best round by a Bearcat. He earned a 2-over par 72, moving up 10 spots to tie for 18th place at 77-74-72=223.

Fellow freshman Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) shot 76-77-81=234 to place in a five-way tie for 54th. Finishing tied for 69th, Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) carded a 82-72-83=237. Freshman Mike Irwin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) completed the event in a tie for 81st (77-77-87=241). Senior Kurt Harris (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) placed 86th at 80-82-85=247.

The Bearcats travel to Orlando, Fla. for the BIG EAST Championship, April 29-May 1.
