CINCINNATI - To celebrate the kickoff of the college football season, ESPN is inviting fans to `pledge their allegiance' to their favorite school by taking part in the 'College Colors Pledge Your Allegiance Contest' through Friday, Aug. 31.
Fans are encouraged to pledge their Bearcats allegiance by voting online once per day, per computer, by selecting `Cincinnati Bearcats' in the drop down menu and entering the appropriate `CAPTCHA' test on the page see here. The school with the most pledges will be crowned "Winner of the College Colors Day Spirit Cup" and will be awarded $10,000 for the school's general scholarship fund.
Voters are also offered the opportunity to register for the chance to win personal prizes by entering their name and e-mail address following the vote. Potential prizes for registrants include weekly $50 gift cards from ESPN Shop and one of two grand prizes including a $500 college shopping spree at ESPN Shop.
On Friday, Aug. 31, fans are encouraged to wear their favorite college gear to celebrate `College Colors Day.' Fans can also take part in the `College Colors Day Photo of the Week Contest' by submitting photos of them wearing their favorite school's colors through Facebook on the page seen here. Weekly prizes will be given to winners across multiple categories for the best photos.
