CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will face three opponents this weekend in the La Quinta Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. First, the Bearcats will meet host New Mexico State at 9 p.m. ET on Aug. 31 before playing two matches against Northwestern and Drake on Sept. 1 at noon and 6:30 p.m. ET, respectively. UC is looking for its first victory of the season after falling to 0-3 against three ranked opponents last weekend.

Series Histories:

New Mexico State: The Bearcats are 1-1 agaisnt the Aggies. The last match was a 3-1 loss on Sept. 3, 2005 in Las Cruces, N.M. UC's Jessie Nevitt had 11 block assists in the loss. The match was the finale of the New Mexico State Tournament.

Northwestern: Cincinnati is 0-3 against the Wildcats. The teams last met in the championship match of the Northwestern Tournament in 2009, which NU won 3-0.

Drake: The Bearcats are 1-2 against the Wildcats. The two teams have not played since October 8, 1983 when the Bulldogs won in four sets.

  • Junior Emily MacIntyre was named to the ComCast Lady Vol Classic All-Tournament team. The defensive specialist recorded 42 digs and a 4.2 digs/set ratio.
  • Senior Jordanne Scott had 34 kills and a 4.25 kills/set ratio during the ComCast Lady Vol Classic.
  • Scott leads Cincinnati with 4.25 kills/set, senior Rachel Rohlfs leads with 9.50 assists/set, senior Becca Refenes leads with 1.20 blocks/set and junior Emily MacIntyre leads with 4.20 digs per set.
  • Four current players are ranked among the program's elite in three different career statistical categories. Senior Emily Hayden ranks seventh in career hitting percentage with a .301 mark. Macintyre sits at third in the record book with 3.85 career digs per set. Senior Becca Refenes is currently in eighth with 257 block assists and also is 13 blocks away from moving into 10th place in career total blocks (413). Scott is sixth in career hitting percentage with a .308 mark and also is six sets away from the 400 career-set milestone.
