TIBURON, Calif. — Former University of Cincinnati swimming sprinter Josh Schneider defended his 50-yard freestyle championship on Saturday in the Tiburon Sprint Classic.

Schneider, the 2010 NCAA champion in the 50 free, recorded a mark of 19.63 seconds, besting George Bovell (19.74) in the final.

Bovell qualified for the final, however, with the fastest swim of the competition, 19.39.

The win earned Schneider $10,000 in prize money and his second straight win in the Tiburon Sprint Classic.

The 2012 Tiburon Sprint Classic television show will air on Comcast Sports on Oct. 1. Check your local listings, but SwimSwam.com will update this report with the specific times the show will air on TV.
