CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team will head to Austin, Texas to participate in the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational on Sept. 14 and 15. The Bearcats will compete against UCF at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 before facing a pair of ranked opponents on Sept. 15 with No. 6 Texas at Noon and No. 23 Illinois at 8 p.m. Cincinnati will be looking for revenge against Illinois, after falling 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 25-27, 25-22) to the Fighting Illini on Sept. 7 at Fifth Third Arena during the Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge.

The Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational will be the final regular season tournament for the Bearcats. Cincinnati has had five All-Tournament selections to date: Emily MacIntyre (ComCast Lady Vol Classic, Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge), Emily Hayden and Megan Turner (La Quinta Invitational) and Jordanne Scott and Macintyre (Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge).

Series Histories:

UCF: The Bearcats are 0-2 against the Knights. The previous two meetings came in 1978 and 2003.

Texas: This will be the first meeting between Cincinnati and Texas.

Illinois: The Bearcats are 5-8 against the Fighting Illini. The last match was a 3-1 loss on Sept. 8, 2012 during the Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge.

Story Lines:

  • Senior Jordanne Scott has recorded double-digit kills in all but one match this season. Overall, Scott has hit in double digits in 24 of the last 25 matches, dating back to Oct. 18, 2011, vs. Western Kentucky.
  • The Bearcats' tough schedule continues at the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational where they will match up against No. 6 Texas and No. 23 Illinois on Sept. 15. UC has already faced No. 10 Iowa State, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 12 Florida State, No. 20 Illinois and No. 11 Purdue this season, and still has No. 12 Louisville (twice) on the schedule.
  • Scott leads Cincinnati with 4.23 kills/set, senior Rachel Rohlfs leads with 10.96 assists/set, senior Becca Refenes leads with 0.85 blocks/set and junior Emily MacIntyre leads with 3.58 digs per set.
  • Four current players are ranked among the program's elite in three different career statistical categories. Senior Emily Hayden is tied for seventh in career hitting percentage with a .297 mark. Emily Macintyre sits at third in the record book with a 3.80 career digs per set clip. She also ranks tenth with 1,111 career digs. The junior broke into the top-10 in a 3-1 loss to No. 11 Purdue on Sept. 8, when she recorded 15 digs in the match. Senior Becca Refenes is currently in eighth with 370 block assists. Refenes also etched her name in the record book for total blocks when she blocked six kills against No. 11 Purdue on Sept. 8. She has 419 career blocks to put her at tenth. Senior Jordanne Scott is sixth in career hitting percentage with a .301 mark. She also is 12 kills away from the top-10 in career kills. She currently sits at 1,273 kills, needing 1,285 to rank among the program's elite.
