CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team dropped its second BIG EAST matchup, 7-0, against Notre Dame at Alumni Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats (3-5-1, 0-2 BIG EAST) trailed 2-0 entering after the second 45 after Notre Dame goals by midfielders Elizabeth Tucker and Mandy Laddish. Following halftime, five other Irish players were able to capitalize and stretch the lead to 7-0. Forward Crystal Thomas, forward/midfielder Rebecca Twinning and Tucker finished with one goal and one assist. The first six goals were scored in pairs coming within less than 2:30 minutes of each other.

Notre Dame (5-3-1, 2-0 BIG EAST) held Cincinnati to just nine shots from seven players. The balanced attack included three aggressive shots from freshman forward Laura Rose (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills). An opportunity from junior Katie Greer (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) forced Notre Dame goalkeeper Sarah Voight's lone save. Overall, Cincinnati was outshot 35-9.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristina Utley (Castro Valley, Calif./Castro Valley) finished the afternoon with eight saves with six coming in the second half.

Rose recorded a yellow card early in the second half, following the Fighting Irish's fourth goal.

Cincinnati returns to action on Friday, Sept. 21 in Gettler Stadium against St. John's at 7 p.m.
