LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team posted a season-low three-round total of 904 and finished 10th at the Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate on Wednesday at the New Mexico State Golf Course.
The third round was highlighted by a season-low round of even-par 72 from Andrea Malek. Malek finished tied for 41st after carding rounds of 77-79-72=228. Alex Carl (75-75-76=226) and Mackenzie Moir (76-75-75=226) finished tied for 31st to lead the way for the Bearcats. Olivia Dose also tied for 41st, shooting 78-75-75=228, while Maria Roos was one shot back at 75-78-76=229, good for a tie for 43rd.
The Bearcats posted rounds of 303-303-298=904, three shots back of ninth-place BYU (303-297-301=901). Host New Mexico State was 11th with a 299-304-302=905 total. Kansas won the team competition with rounds of 294-289-288=871. Yupaporn Kawinpakorn of the Jayhawks earned medalist honors after her three-under (69-71-73=213) performance.
"I'm proud of the entire team's effort today," said head coach Janet Carl. "They played all 18 holes from start to finish with intent and it showed. I can't ask any more from them."
The Bearcats close out fall play at the FIU/Pat Bradley Invitational on Oct. 21-23 in Sarasota, Fla.
