CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Volleyball team will host the Louisville Cardinals this Sunday, October 28th at 1:00pm at Fifth Third Arena. The match has been set as the Bearcats' Breast Cancer Awareness match and fans are encouraged to wear pink. The first 100 women in the gate will receive a free pink adidas backpack.
To raise money for the UC Barrett Cancer Center supporting breast cancer research, the Bearcats will be holding a silent auction where fans can place bids on the pink jerseys that the players will be wearing. The auction will be located on the concourse through the third set of the match. Winners of the silent auction will be notified by phone on Monday.
In honor of Halloween week, kids are encouraged to try out their Halloween costumes and come trick-or-treat on the concourse at the match. The UC Marketing team will have a Kid's Zone station where young fans can stop by and pick up candy, make signs and meet Lucy, the Bearcat from the Cincinnati Zoo.
Along with raising awareness for breast cancer, the Bearcats will be collecting canned goods for the Freestore Food Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring their canned goods to the game and deposit them in the bin on the concourse.
UC Faculty and Staff are invited to the game for just $1 per person including family and friends. Please show your UC ID at the gate for the discounted rate.
The Bearcats hope to see you in Fifth Third Arena this Sunday to help defeat the Cardinals. Tickets are just $5 for adults, $3 for youth and $1 for groups of 10 or more. All tickets can be purchased on Sunday at the gate (east concourse of Fifth Third Arena). Cash only. If you cannot make it to Fifth Third Arena, you can watch the Bearcats and Cardinals on ESPNU.
