CINCINNATI - Senior outside hitter Jordanne Scott (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) has been named to the Northeast Region team as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association on Tuesday afternoon.
"I am very excited for Jordanne" said head coach Molly Alvey. "She is more than deserving of this award as she was clearly one of the top competitors in our region. More than anything, I am so proud of Jordanne for completely changing her position on the court this year, embracing it, and excelling at the highest level. This award is a great way of reinforcing that all of her hard work this season paid off in the long run."
It marks the third consecutive year that Scott has been selected for the Northeast Region team, after also earning the distinction as a sophomore in 2010 and as a junior in 2011.
Scott, a unanimous All-BIG EAST first team selection, led the team and ranked second in the conference with 517 kills and a 4.41 kills/set average. She finished second on the team with 228 digs and fourth with 65 blocks. Scott recorded eight double-doubles on the year, including four straight between Nov. 4 and Nov. 16. She hit a career-high 30 kills in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship, ranking second in the conference tournament record book.
The senior was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Oct. 15 and was a two-time BIG EAST honor roll recipient.
A total of 14 players were named to the Northeast Region team, including nine from BIG EAST schools.
