CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior guard Dion Dixon has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday.

Dixon, a native of Chicago, scored a game-high 20 points with a pair of three-pointers and 8-of-10 shooting from the foul line in leading Cincinnati to a 62-57 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday. He also contributed five rebounds, five assists and two blocks against the Pirates. It marked Dixon's fourth 20-point effort of the season and the seventh of his career. He passed former UC great Tom Thacker for 28th place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,167 career points.

Dixon recorded a career-high three blocks to go with seven points and six rebounds in Cincinnati's 81-66 win over Providence on Wednesday.

For the week, Dixon averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 blocks in helping lead the Bearcats to a pair of wins. Dixon is enjoying his top scoring season of his career, averaging 13.6 points - second-best on the team.

It marks the second league honor Dixon has received this season. He was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Jan. 16 after scoring a season-high 22 points in consecutive UC wins at then-No. 11 Georgetown (68-64) on Jan. 9 and at home against Villanova (82-78) on Jan. 14.

Winners in four of their last five games, the Bearcats (19-8 overall, 9-5 BIG EAST) play host to No. 17/17 Louisville on Thursday at Fifth Third Arena. The game starts at 9 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPN.
