CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati sophomore Sean Kilpatrick has been named Second Team All-BIG EAST Conference by the league's coaches it was announced Sunday.
Kilpatrick, a 6-4, 215-pound guard from White Plains, N.Y., averaged 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point range and averaging 2.5 three-pointers per game during the regular season. He tied for first in the conference for three-pointers made while ranking 15th in scoring.
Kilpatrick, whose 452 points this season are the third most under sixth-year head coach Mick Cronin, has scored in double figures in 25 of 31 games. He has recorded six 20-point games this season, including a career-best 27 points at then-No. 11 Georgetown (68-64 win on Jan. 9). He was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Jan. 2 after posting 19 points at then-No. 22 Pittsburgh (66-63 win on Jan. 1) and recording his first career double-double against Oklahoma (56-55 win on Dec. 29) with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He also registered a career-high six three-pointers at Wright State (78-58 win on Dec. 14).
Kilpatrick was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team as freshman a year ago.
Cincinnati finished the regular season 22-9 overall and 12-6 in the BIG EAST, claiming the most league wins in school history. The Bearcats received a double-bye while earning the No. 4 seed in this week's BIG EAST Championship, March 6-10 at Madison Square Garden. UC will play the Georgetown vs. St.John's-Pittsburgh winner on Thursday, March 7 at 2 p.m. on ESPN.

The BIG EAST Player of the Year will come from the All-BIG EAST First Team. The conference will announce Player of the Year, Oppenheimer Funds/BIG EAST Coach of the Year, BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and American Eagle Outfitters BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, March 6. The announcement will be made between sessions of the first day of The BIG EAST Championship Presented by American Eagle Outfitters at Madison Square Garden. The press conference will begin after the postgame interviews of the afternoon doubleheader have been completed. The other league individual awards will be announced Monday, March 5.
