CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati midfielder Kylie Ramsland (Catonsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after accounting for 10 points, including eight goals last week in matches against Niagara and Iona. Her four goals in each match marked game-highs for both contests.
Ramsland led the team in goals (8) and points (10) this week, scoring off just 12 shots for a .667 shooting percentage. Ramsland also scored on 3-of-4 free-position shots and controlled a team-high 10 draws. Her goal with 13 seconds to play against Iona pulled the Bearcats within one point, allowing teammate Courtney Curtis to tie the score and send the match into overtime. She also scored a critical match-tying goal against Niagara, a match the Bearcats went on to win.
Through Saturday's contest against Iona, Ramsland has scored 11 goals on the season, including 5-of-6 free-position goals. She has also amassed a team-high 20 draw controls this year. Ramsland ranks No. 1 in the BIG EAST Conference in draw controls per contest (5.00) and free-position goals per match (1.25). She also sits in fourth place in goals per match (2.75), eighth in shots per match (4.75) and ninth in points per match (3.25).
Ramsland and the Bearcats return to action March 14 when they host Liberty University in a 2 p.m. contest at UC's historic Nippert Stadium.
