SETTING THE SCENE
-The University of Cincinnati baseball team takes a break from BIG EAST Conference play Tuesday when it welcomes the Ohio University Bobcats to Marge Schott Stadium for a 4 p.m. ballgame.
-Redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Christian McElroy is slated to start for the Bearcats.
-The Bearcats were winners in three of their last four ballgames before getting swept by South Florida over the weekend.
-Junior outfielder Justin Glass was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday (March 25), becoming the second Bearcat in 2013 to receive the honor.

NOW PITCHING FOR UC ...
-UC redshirt junior RHP Christian McElroy will make his sixth start of the season on Tuesday vs. Ohio.
-McElroy was selected in the 32nd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Cincinnati Reds, but opted to remain at UC.
-Last season, McElroy appeared in 13 ballgames with nine starts, posted a 4.41 ERA with four wins and 46 strikeouts in 63.1 innings pitched. He finished sixth in the BIG EAST Conference in fewest hits allowed (59) and 12th in opponent batting average (.252), and did not allow a triple the entire season. -In three of 13 appearances, he did not allow an earned run.
-On March 1, McElroy dazzled, going 5 2-3 innings, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out six en route to his first win of the season.
-In five starts in 2013, McElroy has posted a 6.75 ERA in 18 2-3 innings pitched with 12 walks and 16 strikeouts.
OPPONENT BREAKDOWN
-Ohio University went 28-29 overall in 2012, including a 16-11 mark in Mid-American Conference play, which was good for a fourth place in the league.
-The Bobcats were picked to finish fourth in MAC East Division in the 2013 MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

-With a 4-18 record, OU ranks ninth in the MAC in team batting average and 10th in team ERA.

-Cincinnati and Ohio have played 104 ballgames all time.
-The Bobcats own a 58-45-1 advantage in the all-time series.
-The first meeting took place on April 19, 1907 in Athens, with the result unknown.
-Last year, UC topped OU 11-2 on April 3 in Athens, Ohio.
GLASS NAMED TO HONOR ROLL
-Junior outfielder Justin Glass was named to the BIG EAST Conference weekly honor roll on March 25 for his performance in four games last week.
-Glass batted an impressive .444 (8 for 18) with two runs scored and five RBIs while slugging .444 and reaching base at a .474 clip in four contests versus Northern Kentucky and South Florida.
-For the year, Glass is tied for third in the BIG EAST in hits with six and also tied for third in RBIs with five during conference games. The 6-foot-2 slugger leads the Bearcats in batting average, RBIs, slugging percentage and hits.
-Glass is the second Bearcat to receive this honor in 2013 after freshman infielder Forrest Perron received the award March 4.
