CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team completed the first round of the Memphis Intercollegiate on Monday in Cordova, Tenn., at the Colonial Country Club. The Bearcats are tied for 14th place after the first day. Teams were supposed to play two rounds on Monday, but play was stopped during the middle of round two. UC will conclude the second round and begin the third round on Tuesday.
The Bearcats currently sit in a tie for 14th place with a total score of 321, 33 strokes over par. UC is tied with Middle Tennessee State and leads DePaul (329) by eight strokes in the 16-team field. South Alabama and Austin Peay currently share first place with a score of 303, 15 strokes over par.
Senior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) leads Cincinnati after shooting 78 in round one. Freshman Blake Hamilton (Union, Ky./Ryle), sophomore Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), freshman Emerson Newsome (Hoschton, Ga./Mill Creek) and sophomore Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) all follow close behind with scores of 80, 81, 82 and 85, respectively.
UC will pick up where it left off in round two at 9 a.m. ET and will begin round three immediately following.
