SETTING THE SCENE
-The University of Cincinnati baseball team resumes BIG EAST Conference play Thursday when it travels to the Big Apple to play the St. John's Red Storm in a three-game series at Jack Kaiser Stadium in Queens, N.Y.
-All three ballgames of the series will be streamed live on ESPN3.com/Watch ESPN.
-The series opener is slated for a noon first pitch with redshirt freshman right-handed pitcher Connor Walsh expected to start for the Bearcats.
-Cincinnati will send true freshman RHP Mitch Patishall to the mound for Game 2 of the series, which will begin on Thursday approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1.
-The series finale is scheduled for a 1 p.m. Saturday start time, with UC's starting pitcher to be determined.
-UC is coming off a win over in-state rival Ohio University after topping the Bobcats 4-1 on Wednesday. Prior to the Ohio game, the Bearcats were winners in three of their last four ballgames before getting swept by South Florida over the weekend.
-Bearcats junior outfielder Justin Glass was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday (March 25), becoming the second Bearcat in 2013 to receive the honor.

NOW PITCHING FOR UC ...
-Game 1 of the St. John's series will feature redshirt freshman RHP Connor Walsh, who made his collegiate debut on Feb. 17 at Florida Atlantic after sitting out the entire 2012 season due to arm surgery.
-Walsh allowed three earned runs on four hits with one strikeout and three walks in 3 2-3 innings at FAU.
-On March 16 vs. Western Michigan, Walsh got his first career win, going 7 1-3 innings, allowing five hits, just one earned and a career-high seven strikeouts.
-In his most recent start on March 22 at South Florida, Walsh tossed three scoreless innings and allowed just one hit before weather postponed the remainder of the game until the following day.
-On the season, Walsh owns a 3.58 ERA in 27.2 innings with 12 walks and 22 strikeouts. He ranks seventh in the BIG EAST in opponent batting average (.218) and fewest runs allowed (11).
-Cincinnati's starter in Game 2 of the series will be freshman right-hander Mitch Patishall, who will be making his fourth start of the season.
-Patishall, who was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 36th round of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft, owns a 6.43 ERA in five games this season, holding opponents to a .250 batting average while striking out nine batters in 14 innings.
-Saturday's starting pitcher for the Bearcats is to be determined.

OPPONENT BREAKDOWN
-St. John's tied for the regular-season BIG EAST Championship in 2012 after producing a 19-8 league mark while finishing 40-23 overall.
-The Red Storm went on to win the NCAA Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. and advanced to the Tucson, Ariz. Super Regional.
-St. John's was picked to finish second in the BIG EAST this season, per the conference's preseason coaches' poll.
-Senior LHP Sean Hagan and senior third baseman Sean O'Hare were named to the 2013 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Hagan went 8-2 last season, with a 2.72 ERA and 66 strikeouts, while O'Hare hit .346 with three home runs and 42 RBIs.
-This season, St. John's owns an 8-14 overall record, including 0-3 in league play.
-The Red Storm rank eighth in the BIG EAST in batting average (.264) and last in team ERA (5.74).

THE SERIES VERSUS ST. JOHN'S
-Cincinnati and St. John's have played 20 ballgames all time.
-The Red Storm own a 14-6 advantage in the all-time series, and have won the past nine meetings after UC won six of the first 11 contests.
-The first meeting took place on May 18, 2006 in Cincinnati, with the Bearcats winning 7-0.
-Last year, St. John's swept UC in a three-game series April 20-22 in Cincinnati.

GLASS NAMED TO HONOR ROLL
-Junior outfielder Justin Glass was named to the BIG EAST Conference weekly honor roll on March 25 for his performance in four games last week.
-Glass batted an impressive .444 (8 for 18) with two runs scored and five RBIs while slugging .444 and reaching base at a .474 clip in four contests versus Northern Kentucky and South Florida.
-For the year, Glass is tied for third in the BIG EAST in hits with six and also tied for third in RBIs with five during conference games. The 6-foot-2 slugger leads the Bearcats in batting average, RBIs, slugging percentage and hits.
-Glass is the second Bearcat to receive this honor in 2013 after freshman infielder Forrest Perron received the award March 4.

WHAT'S HAPP'NIN
-Freshman infielder Ian Happ has reached base in the past 16 ballgames and is in the midst of a six-game hit streak.
-Happ leads the BIG EAST Conference in walks (19) and is tied for the league lead in doubles (9).
-Happ also ranks sixth in the conference in stolen bases with 10.
-He ranks fourth on the team with five multi-hit ballgames.
