STORRS - The University of Cincinnati's women's lacrosse team (6-6, 0-4) dropped a 15-2 decision to the University of Connecticut (10-1, 3-1) Friday in Storrs, Conn.

The Huskies took an 11-0 lead at the half as Lauren Kahn scored four goals, while Morgan O'Reilly and Catherine Gross chipped in three goals apiece.

The second half was more evenly matched as the Bearcats saw goals from sophomore Megan Bell (Baltimore, Md./Hereford) and freshman Sarah Del Bene (Timonium, Md./Timonium). UC held the Huskies to just four goals in the second half, as freshman goalkeeper Meg Gulmi recorded five saves.

As a team, the Bearcats picked up 14 ground balls and controlled eight draws. UC also caused three of UConn's 14 turnovers.

The Huskies outshot the Bearcats 28-14 for the game and caused nine of UC's 24 turnovers.

Gulmi ended the game with seven saves.

The Bearcats are back in action Sunday, April 14 at No. 5/6 Syracuse. First draw is set for 1 p.m.
