Bearcats and Dayton Game Canceled After 4.5 Innings

April 16, 2013

CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati baseball team’s Tuesday night ballgame against Dayton at Marge Schott Stadium has been canceled after four-and-a-half innings of play due to inclement weather.

Following a weather delay that caused the game to start at 8:21 p.m., which was 1 hour, 51 minutes past the 6:30 p.m. scheduled first pitch, the Bearcats and Flyers played through the top of the fourth inning.

Play was paused heading to the bottom of the fifth inning at 9:44 p.m. and, after continued lightning and rain, the official decision to cancel the game occurred at 10:45 p.m.

A makeup game has not been scheduled and talks of resuming the game at a later date have not occurred.

Cincinnati will resume action 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when the Bearcats welcome Ohio State to Marge Schott Stadium. The game will mark the first time the Buckeyes have visited UC since 1994 and the Bearcats will look to extend their three-game win streak over OSU.
