CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team returns from a two-game road trip to host DePaul in a BIG EAST contest Tuesday evening. Tip off at Fifth Third Arena will take place at 7 p.m.
THE SERIES: Cincinnati and DePaul will face off for the 37th time Tuesday night. The Blue Demons lead the series at 24 wins compared to 12 for UC. In games played in Cincinnati, the series is even at eight wins each. The Blue Demons are winners of eight of the last nine meetings, dating back to the 2003-04 season. UC's only win during the span came on Jan. 14, 2007 when the Bearcats defeated DePaul 62-44 at home.
LAST TIME OUT: Cincinnati never got on track against nationally-ranked Louisville as the Cardinals ran away with a 72-33 final score. The Cardinals managed to turn 31 UC turnovers into 30 points during the contest. Louisville out-rebounded UC 32-16, the largest deficit margin of the season for the Bearcats.
Cincinnati was lead in scoring by Dayeesha Hollins' 11 points. Alyeesha Lovett was the only other Bearcat to reach double digits, pouring in 10 points during a starting assignment. She also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEMONS: DePaul (14-5, 3-2) enters Tuesday's contest coming off a victory over Providence by a 79-67 score. The Blue Demons have traded wins and losses in their last five contests, accounting for a 3-2 record. The span includes a win over ten No. 11/10 Louisville (86-80) and a loss to RV/23 Syracuse (84-80).
Winners of eight of their last 10 contests, DePaul ranks third in the BIG EAST and fourth nationally with 19.2 assists per game. The Blue Demons are led in scoring by Anna Martin's 16.2 points per game. Brittany Hrynko (15.3) and Jasmine Penny (14.8) also average double digits. Katherine Harry leads the team, the BIG EAST and ranks 20th nationally in rebounds per game (10.9).
