STORRS, Conn. - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime decision at No. RV/8 Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Bearcats fell to 6-10-1 on the year and 1-6-0 in the American Athletic Conference, while the Huskies improved to 8-2-5 and 3-0-4 in the league.
In regulation, UConn posted eight shots in each half, while the Bearcats posted five shots in each frame. The Huskies recorded three shots on goal in regulation, while UC had just one shot on net, in the second half.
UConn netted the game-winner just 1:42 into extra time, with Allando Matheson recording the goal from Cyle Larin and Sergio Campbell.
UC keeper Alex Gill made three saves in the match, while UConn's Andre Blake made one save to earn the victory.
The Bearcats' lone shot on goal came from Matt Remaley. Alan Rovira registered four shots in the match, while John Manga took three shots and Ashani Walker had a pair of shots.
UC has one match left in the regular season, a trip to Temple on Saturday, Nov. 2. The season finale is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
