STORRS, Conn. - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team limited No. 1 UConn to a season-low 67 points, but totaled just 34 points themselves to suffer a loss in the conference opener Sunday evening in Connecticut.

In addition to the season-low scoring effort, the Bearcats also held UConn to just 33 points in the first half, also a season low.

Jeanise Randolph (Chicago, Ill./Thornton Fractional North) recorded another double-double in the contest, marking her fifth this season. The senior forward was 7-of-15 from the floor for 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Randolph also dished out three assists and added one block and a steal.

Jasmine Whitfield (Crestwood, Ky./South Oldham) added six points, going 2-of-4 from three-point range. Dayeesha Hollins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) added five points while Bianca Quisenberry (Springfield, Ohio/Tecumseh) and Alyesha Lovett (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X Shabazz) each grabbed four rebounds.

UConn took control during the opening minutes of the first half, putting together a 16-0 run to open the contest. Kayla Cook finally put UC on the board with a three at the 13:56 mark. The Huskies added three more points before Cincinnati put together an 11-3 run to cut the lead down to eight points with 5:53 left in the half. Jasmine Whitfield nailed a pair of three pointers while Hollins and Randolph also added buckets during the UC scoring run.

UConn entered the second half holding a 33-20 lead before gradually building a 24-point lead with 10:52 to play. The scoring advantage was capped by a 6-0 run.

Breanna Stewart, Moriah Jefferson and Bria Hartley all led UConn in scoring with 12 points each.
