NEW YORK - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team has placed 18 of 20 eligible student-athletes on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team as announced by the league on Thursday.
The 18 Bearcats lacrosse players were among 2,091 honorees in the BIG EAST for academic performance during the 2013-14 academic year. Student-athletes which participated in a league-sponsored sport and posted a 3.00 grade-point average for the year were eligible as long as they had completed consecutive academic semesters at their present institution (junior transfer Michelle Platz completed just the spring semester at UC).
"We are extremely proud that 18 of our 21 student-athletes were recognized on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team," said head coach Gina Oliver. "We pride ourselves in maintaining high academic standards within our program and seeing this recognition proves we have accomplished that."2013-14 University of Cincinnati BIG EAST All-Academic Team Members
