CINCINNATI - Head Coach Ty Neal and the University of Cincinnati baseball team announced the schedule for the 2014 annual alumni weekend and softball game. The festivities will take place Sept. 19 and 20 to coincide with the university's homecoming weekend.
The inaugural alumni softball game will take place on Friday, Sept. 19 on the newly installed turf at Marge Schott Stadium. The festivities start with UC baseball practice from 2:45 to 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at the stadium at 5 p.m., and the softball game will begin under the lights at 7 p.m. Due to the new turf, metal spikes will not be permitted on the field.
"We are excited to have our former players and their families back on campus," head coach Ty Neal said. "Last year was the biggest alumni turnout this program has experienced. It is important to us that our former players and their families want to come back and engage with our current players. I hope all former players make it a priority to get back to campus and experience the growth of their university. (University of Cincinnati president) Dr. Ono and (Director of Athletics) Mike Bohn are making things happen here."
