CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team was pushed to extra time for the third occasion this season, but didn't need much of it as John Manga scored just over two minutes in to earn a 1-0 victory over Eastern Illinois. The Sunday afternoon win at Gettler Stadium was the second straight for the Bearcats (2-3-2).

Matt Remaley (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista) won a ball in the midfield and dribbled down into the near corner. He beat a defender along the endline before finding Manga (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) at the top of the six. Manga drilled it home to the back of the net for the victory just 2:02 into extra time.

The Bearcats returned home for the first time since Sept. 1, when they played Wright State to a 1-1 draw in the home opener. Cincinnati played five of its first six matches on the road, but is unbeaten now in two home matches.
// Remaley on the Board
The assist on the game winner for Remaley marked his first point of the season. The senior co-captain plays mostly holding midfield and defense and was a Preseason All-American Athletic Conference selection by CollegeSportsMadness.com. It was the third assist in Remaley's career and first point since 2012.
// Manga Leading the Way
Manga has taken over as the team's leading scorer, as the goal was his fourth of the season. He also has an assist on the year and leads the team in both goals and points. Magna tied for third on the team last year with six points (three goals.)

The Bearcats play consecutive home matches for the first time this season when they host Cleveland State on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The contest begins at 7:00 p.m. The showdown with the Vikings marks the final tune-up before American play opens on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Temple.
