PROVIDENCE, R.I. - UC volleyball freshman Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) has been tabbed the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading her team to a 2-0 performance on the road to open conference play.
Muldrow recorded 12 blocks in two matches for a 1.71 blocks/set average. She recorded a career-high eight blocks in the weekend finale at Tulane to tie a season high for any UC player.
Cincinnati won the final two sets to win 3-2 at Houston on Friday night before topping Tulane 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The middle blocker is the first freshman to win an American player of the week honor this season.
She also is the first player of the week for the Bearcats this season after three teammates have earned spots on the weekly honor roll.
