Sept. 30, 2014 Final Results Led by senior Jared Howard's (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) career-low tying 5-under par 67 during Tuesday's final round, the University of Cincinnati finished third at the Cardinal Intercollegiate at the University of Louisville Golf Club (par 72, 7,100 yards) in Simpsonville, Ky. Howard started the day tied for 30th place but ended the tournament tying for seventh place at even par 75-74-67=216 after carding five birdies on the front nine and playing even par after the turn. His final-round 67 was the best round registered by any of the 84 players in the field during the tournament. He matched his career-best round set last season during third-round play at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship where he finished fourth. "He's played very well to this point in the season but he just hadn't putted well," UC head coach Doug Martin said. "He finally began to putt well this week and especially today." Howard finished five strokes behind Louisiana-Monroe's Greg Small (72-70-69=211) and Eastern Kentucky's Patric Sundlof (68-72-71=211), who tied for medalist honors. // Team Standings The Bearcats finished third in the team standings at 13-over 298-289-290=877 after starting the final round in sixth place.
