OMAHA, Neb. -The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team concluded its weekend in Omaha with a 3-0 loss at the hands of No. 8 Creighton. The decision drops the Bearcats to 0-2-2 on the season with the annual crosstown rivalry match with Xavier looming next weekend.

Herbers opened the scoring for the Blue Jays, scoring from 15 yards out when a pass from Timo Pitter drew UC keeper Alex Gill (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) out of the net.

The hosts added on when Pitter, who set up the first goal, took a feed from Lucas Stauffer and converted from inside the box.
Creighton 3, Cincinnati 0 - Fabian Herbers (74')
Herbers struck for the second time, again on an assist from Pitter, who played it into the middle of the box. Herbers was there to send it home for the final score of the match.

The Bearcats are in the midst of playing five of their first six matches on the road. The trip to Omaha, which resulted in a pair of losses, opened at Nebraska Omaha. The Mavericks are ranked ninth in the west region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Things didn't get easier with the visit to Creighton, who at 4-0 with wins over national powers Stanford and Santa Clara, is ranked eighth in the nation.

Cincinnati gets slight rest from the road, although will still visit a hostile environment, as its only match next week is Saturday, Sept. 13, at crosstown rival Xavier. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. at the XU Soccer Complex.
