PHILADELPHIA - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (11-25, 17-25, 16-25) decision on Friday night at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The match was the first of a two-match road swing in American Athletic Conference play for the Bearcats.

- With the loss, Cincinnati falls to 11-6 on the season and 3-2 in the American while Temple improves to 12-5 and 3-2.
- Senior Jamie Netisingha (Westmont, Ill./Hinsdale Central) finished with nine digs, marking the first time all season her digs total fell below 10.
- Junior Emma Roberson (Brooks, Ky./Evansville) tallied nine kills, breaking her streak of ten consecutive matches with a double-digit kill mark.

// Set Breakdown
Set 1: TU 25, UC 11
- The Bearcats scored their fewest points in a set all season, mustering just 11 to open the match.
- Cincinnati was unable to stop the Owls' momentum as Temple scored at least three points at a time on three separate occasions.
- The longest Temple run was five points, to push the lead to 16-6. Two UC attacking errors and three kills propelled TU during the rally.
- Temple scored the final two points with a kill and a block to win 25-11.
- Roberson and senior Me'Ashah Nicholson (Shiloh, Ill./Belleville Althoff) each had four kills for the Bearcats in the set.
Set 2: TU 25, UC 17
- Temple again scored in bunches throughout the game, including three straight points for a 3-1 advantage early on.
- Cincinnati held close through 7-6 but three more points for the Owls gave the home team an insurmountable lead.
- The Bearcats tried to climb back in the game with three straight TU errors and a kill by Roberson to get to within 24-17, but a kill by Temple's Halle McCullough finally ended the run and the set.
Set 3: TU 25, UC 16
- The Bearcats put together their best offensive game of the match in the third set, with four players combining for 11 kills, led by sophomore Ciara Hill's (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) four.
- Cincinnati could not stop Temple's power, allowing seven kills to Tyler Davis who led the way for TU.
- Temple twice went on a five-point scoring run in the game to hold its lead.
- Hill recorded three digs in a five-play span for Cincinnati to bring the score to 17-12.
- Two final kills by Dara Peric and Kirsten Overton closed out the match.
