The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team fell behind to USF early and couldn't recover at the Bulls defeated the Bearcats, 4-2, in Tampa, Florida.
A pair of goals within the first five minutes of the match stunned the Bearcats (10-6-2, 4-4-0 American), but senior Megan Cravenor got UC back into it with a penalty kick goal in the 9th minute.
Cincinnati continued to battle back and forth with USF (10-6-1, 5-3-0 American) in the first half, but UC couldn't generate enough offense before the end of the stanza and went into the locker room down, 2-1.
After being outshot 4-1 in the first 45, the Bearcats flipped the table and generated five shots to USF's three in the second half. Unfortunately, the Bulls extended their lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 62nd.
In the 79th, junior Danielle Rotheram brought Cincinnati back within one goal on her tea-leading sixth goal of the season, but USF, again, answered with a goal less than a minute later.
USF rode the two-goal lead to the end for a 4-2 victory.
