CINCINNATI - Cincinnati finished the last day of the Hoosier Classic Sunday afternoon with singles play. The Bearcats participated in the three-day event hosted by Indiana over the last three days.
Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill/Grayslake North) came all the way through the back draw of the Indiana bracket to finish fifth. She earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 victory in her only match of the day.
Katya Bure (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) suffered a loss in the third/fourth-place match of the Crimson Draw, falling to Kim Schmider of host Indiana 6-3, 6-1.
Ali Miller (Portsmouth, Ohio/Portsmouth) and Hannah Wille (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway Central) each suffered losses in their final matches of the Indiana Draw. Wille lost 6-4, 6-0 to Sarah Baron of Indiana while Miller was defeated by a 7-6 (2), 6-4.
