The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team had their 2014 campaign come to an end on Sunday afternoon as they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to USF in Tampa, Florida.

The Bearcats (10-8-2) started the match on a strong note as senior Megan Cravenor crossed in a shot from the left side that dribbled into the bottom right corner of the goal. Cravenor's goal gave UC the lead for about 10 minutes until the Bulls (12-6-1 Leticia Skeete evened the match.

Cravenor jump started Cincinnati's offense again in the second half as she assisted junior Danielle Rotheram on a go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute.

But the lead again didn't last long as USF knotted the score as the Bearcats, unfortunately, headed in an own goal by senior goalkeeper Kristina Utley.

It seemed overtime would be needed to decide the quarterfinal match of the American Athletic Conference match, but Skeete scored a second goal by deflecting a shot off the post and into the goal.

The heartbreaking defeat in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament marks the second consecutive season that it has happened for the Bearcats. UC ends the year with a record of 10-8-2, and it is the program's first season with double-digit victories since 2008 and only the second since 2002.

Sunday's match was the final game in Red & Black for nine Bearcats: Jae Atkinson, Devyn Ciotti, Megan Cravenor, Emily Elsbrock, Alexa Fiehrer, Mackenzie Grause, Christi Mason, Kristina Utley and Mollie Williams.
