Senior Kevin Fink guided the University of Cincinnati men's cross country program to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday. The women claimed 28th overall.

Fink put together arguably the best race of his career as he finished 24th overall and claimed All-Region honors. He ran the 10-kilometer course in a time of 30:43 which is nearly four minutes faster than last season's time of 34:38 that placed him 172nd. The Tipp City, Ohio native is the first UC runner to earn all-region honors since Eric Finan earned the accolade after finishing second in 2011.

The Bearcats also had good races from Greg Sanders, Anthony Car and Jacob Franklin as each of them finished in the top 100. Ian Silver rounded out the scoring for Cincinnati finishing 109th.

The men's program entered the weekend unranked but finished 14th overall and make it fifth consecutive season they finished top 15 at the regional meet.

Seniors Ashley Earman and Lauren Goodwin led the women's team to a 28th-place finish. Earman clocked in at 22:38 for 129th place and Goodwin ran 22:53 for 140th.

The women's team finish is an improvement from last season where they finished 29th.

Friday's race caps off the Bearcats' 2014 cross country campaign. Both the men's and women's programs graduate three runners on the team.
