ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team lost a 3-0 (21-25, 9-25, 21-25) decision to UCF on Wednesday evening in Orlando, Florida.
Senior Me'Ashah Nicholson (Shiloh, Ill./Belleville Althoff) led the way for Cincinnati with 10 kills and two blocks. Senior Madi Lang (Commerce Township, Mich./Florida Atlantic) connected for 23 assists while senior Jamie Netisingha (Westmont, Ill./Hinsdale Central) recorded a match-high 12 digs.
The Knights were playing as the American Athletic Conference champion after winning the title last weekend.

- With the loss, Cincinnati is now to 15-16 on the season and 7-12 in the American while UCF improves to 24-7 and 17-2.
- With her 12 digs against UCF, Netisingha has a total of 536 digs on the year, good for fifth on the UC individual season record book. She is 24 digs behind Emmi MacIntyre who had 560 digs in 2011.
- Netisingha has recorded double-digit digs in 26 matches this season.

"Tonight we played the number one team in our conference and we had a really good showing" head coach Molly Alvey said. "This time of year it could be really easy to give up or lay low but we stepped up. UCF will represent the American Athletic Conference in the NCAA tournament and I am proud of how we played against them tonight."

Set 1: UCF 25, UC 21
- The Bearcats held close throughout the set, pulling to within 20-19 on a kill by Nicholson.
- A block by Nicholson and Lang put the score at 21-20 before three straight UCF kills put the Knights ahead 24-20.
- The Bearcats hit 15 kills with just two errors in the set for a .371 hitting percentage.
- Nicholson led UC with six kills and a .750 attacking clip.
Set 2: UCF 25, UC 9
- A run of six straight points for the Knights broke an early 2-2 tie to put UCF ahead 8-2. A service error by UCF's DeLaina Sarden finally broke the run for Cincinnati.
- The Knights increased the lead by scoring at least three points on four occasions, using three straight points to win the set 25-9.
Set 3: UCF 25, UC 21
- The Bearcats put up a fight in the final game, using a five-point scoring run to cut the UCF lead to 19-18. Cincinnati used kills by Nicholson and Lang and a block by the tandem of Nicholson and junior Amelia Wegman (Aurora, Ill./Rosary) to propel the scoring run.
- A kill, a block and a UC attack error put the Knights ahead 24-20 and two points later, a block gave UCF the 25-21 victory.
