NICEVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team dropped its first decision of the season on Saturday night in the title game of the Emerald Coast Classic. The Bearcats (5-1) were defeated, 66-54, by Ole Miss (5-1) despite a double-double effort from Gary Clark.

Clark (Clayton, N.C./Clayton) notched 12 points and 12 rebounds on the night. Octavius Ellis (Memphis, Tenn./Trinity Valley College (Texas)) contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, while Deshaun Morman (Richmond, Va./Faith Baptist Christian (Fla.)) joined the duo in double figures with 11 points.

The Rebels were paced by 26 points from Stefan Moody. Ladarius White added nine points and Jarvis Summers contributed eight points.

Ole Miss led, 30-25, at the half after holding UC to 33.3 percent shooting. Ellis scored nine points in the first 20 minutes while shooing 4-5 from the field. Clark had seven at the break of 3-4 shooting, but unfortunately the Bearcats struggled to generate scoring on the perimeter.

After Ellis and Clark kept UC in the game in the first half, Ole Miss held them to nine points combined in the second period as the Rebels took the 66-54 victory. Cincinnati shot just 30.4 percent for the game, its lowest mark of the season.
