CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati athletics department played host to a group of nearly 500 fans interested in purchasing men's basketball season tickets during Monday's exhibition win over Bellarmine at Fifth Third Arena. A second live open house event is scheduled for Saturday's exhibition contest with Fairmont State. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The "Try it before you buy it" event which tags seats available for season ticket purchase gives fans the opportunity to lock in their favorite location on site.
"It was made really simple, especially with specific seats marked," said Mitch Perdix, a new season-ticket holder who attended UC's win over Bellarmine on Nov. 3. "The open house was a great idea and UC made it really convenient for us. We loved how easy they made everything."
The ticket partnership with Gaslight Property provides UC fans considering a 2014-15 ticket package the opportunity to request two complimentary seats for one of the Bearcats two exhibition games. These seats are located in the upper level bleachers of Fifth Third Arena and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets for the Fairmont State contest will be available for pick up at a special will-call area inside the main lobby of the Richard Lindner Center. Cash parking will be available on-campus for $10 inside the Campus Green Garage.
Members of the UC Fan Development Team and the newly formed UC Legends program will again be on hand Saturday to greet fans, take pictures and talk about ticket locations available this season. Corie Blount, Tarrance Gibson, Keith Gregor, Melvin Levett, Terry Nelson and Ruben Patterson are among the former players tentatively scheduled to attend. The UC Legends program is a growing group of former basketball players dedicated to maintaining the tradition of Bearcats Basketball.
Season-ticket packages for the 2014-15 Bearcats campaign start at just $99 in the Bearcat Lair section where sales are at an eight-year high.
The UC home schedule features key games against nonconference opponents VCU, San Diego State, and Xavier. The Bearcats' American Athletic Conference home schedule includes contests with Temple, SMU, Memphis, and defending national champion UConn.
Additional locations are available for purchase for the Fairmont State game. Lower level tickets to both games start at $10. Please call 1-877-CATS-TIX for more information about all ticket options.
