MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team limited Memphis 20 points below their season scoring average, but suffered a 41-38 loss in American Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening.

The Bearcats fought to the end during a defensive battle in Memphis, narrowly missing a half-court shot that would have tied the game at the buzzer. The Bearcats held the Tigers' leading scorer and the conference's fifth-leading scorer, Ariel Hearn, to four points and allowed her to take just seven shots.
