PHILADELPHIA - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team wasn't able to overcome a hot shooting Temple team in the second half, falling on the road to the Owls, 83-50, in American Athletic Conference action Tuesday night.

// THE SHORT STORY:
The second meeting between the Owls and Bearcats seemed to go eerily similar to the first as Temple relied on strong shooting in the second half to propel them to victory. Temple shot 64.7 percent from the field during Tuesday's second half after shooting 58.4 percent during the second half of the first meeting this season. UC also allowed 24 points off 20 turnovers.

- UC put together an early 6-0 run to take an 8-5 lead at the 14:12 mark. Chelsea Jamison added one score while Whitfield had a pair, one stemming from a steal by Brandey Tarver.
- Temple put together an 11-4 run over the span of three minutes and 40 seconds that turned a tie game into a seven-point advantage for the Owls. Owens hit a three with a minute remaining in the half to cut the deficit to four.
- Temple jumped out to a 46-30 lead thanks to a 9-0 scoring spree that lasted one minute and 50 seconds. The Owls went 4-for-4 from the field with one three and a steal during the run.
- UC immediately answered with an 8-0 run that started with a three from Ana Owens. A layup from Marley Hill and three points from Brandey Tarver followed before Temple scored.
- The Owls stopped the UC run with an Erica Covile layup, eventually scoring 10 unanswered to push their lead to the largest of the night, 60-42. Cincinnati was 0-for-2 from the floor and committed two turnovers during the Temple run.
