CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati sophomore guard Troy Caupain (Midlothian, Va./Cosby High School) has been named to the American Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Monday.

Caupain helped guide the Bearcats (14-5, 5-2 American) to a pair of wins last week averaging a team-best 11.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals while shooting 53.8 percent from the field (7 of 13) and 42.9 percent from three-point range (3 of 7).

He scored a team-high 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting with a trio of threes against Houston (Jan. 21) and posted nine points on 3-of-7 shooting with three steals at UCF (Jan. 25).

Caupain earned the same accolade last Monday after scoring a team-high 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting at Memphis (Jan. 15) and contributing nine points and seven assists without a turnover against Temple (Jan. 17).

For the season, Caupain ranks among the league leaders in free throw percentage (second at .869), assists (sixth at 3.7) and steals (tied for ninth at 1.4). Since the start of league play, he ranks among the conference's best in assist-to-turnover ratio (first at 2.4-to-1), free throw percentage (second at .947), steals (third at 1.9), assists (fourth at 4.4) and three-point percentage (tied for sixth at .455).

Cincinnati plays host to defending national champion UConn (11-7, 4-2) on Thursday at 8 p.m. It also marks UC's annual White Out game as fans are encouraged to wear white at Fifth Third Arena. The contest will be broadcast by ESPN2 and 700 WLW. UConn won the previous meeting, 62-57, in Hartford, Connecticut, on Jan. 10.
