CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team dropped an 81-64 decision to Temple University on Saturday afternoon in Fifth Third Arena. Junior Jasmine Whitfield (Crestwood, Ky./South Oldham) led the Bearcats with 20 points, the most she has scored since going for 24 in the season opener.

Cincinnati scored 19 of its points from the charity stripe, forcing 26 Temple fouls in the game while only committing 15.

- Cincinnati held an 11-6 lead early in the first half until a 14-0 run by Temple put the Owls ahead 20-11. TU's Feyonda Fitzgerald accounted for nine of the visitor's 14 points during the run that spanned four minutes and 58 seconds.
- A 6-0 Bearcats run cut the Tempe lead to 20-17 with 9:13 remaining in the first half. Senior Chelsea Jamison (Indianapolis, Ind./Broad Ripple) hit two buckets in the span for UC.
- Jamison (two points), Owens (three points) and Whitfield (three points) each scored in an 8-0 Bearcats run that brought UC to within a point at 30-29 with 1:56 left in the half.
- Temple recorded a 6-0 run that put the Owls ahead 42-34 early in the second half. The run sparked a gradual 17-9 run for TU that gave the visitor's a 59-43 lead with 12:09 left in the game.
- The Bearcats managed a 7-0 run, with three points apiece from Whitfield and Owens, to close the TU lead to 76-62 at the 1:56 mark.

- Cincinnati scored 19 points from the free throw line, the second most for the squad this season. The 29 attempts were also the second-best this season.
