CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving programs competed against Kentucky on Friday night, falling to the Southeastern Conference opponent in a final tune-up for the American Athletic Conference Championships.

// KEIRE HITS THE TRIFECTA
Sophomore Jackie Keire (Burlingotn, Ont./Nelson) won all three individual events she competed in. First was the 50 freestyle, which she completed in 23.24. Second, Keire captured the 100 freestyle in 51.18. Finally, she won the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 4:58.34.
It was the final tune-up for Keire, who will look to defend a pair of individual titles at the American Athletic Conference Championships. Last year, she captured first in the 200 and 500 freestyles at the league meet, while earning a narrow runner-up finish in the 100 freestyle. At the moment, Keire would enter the league championships with her top times in 100, 200 and 500 freestyles the quickest by any swimmer in the conference this season.
// BREADY TAKES 1,000 FREE
Freshman Chris Bready (Missouri City, Texas/Lawrence E. Elkins) collected the first individual win of the day for the Bearcats. He staged a dramatic comeback at the end of the race to win with a mark of 9:23.19, just ahead of UK's Jamie Stevenson who clocked in at 9:23.48. It marked the third straight victory in the 1,000 for the rookie, Bready, who won at both Alabama and Western Kentucky last weekend. He will likely enter the league championships with the fastest 1,000 time in the conference, having a season-best of 9:17.83.
// BEARCATS ON THE BOARD
Diving competition was hosted by Kentucky in order for the teams to utilize a platform. Amanda Coffey (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) was the top female on both the platform and three-meter, finishing third in both with scores of 178.05 and 212.63, respectively. Zachary Wolcott (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) earned the top men's score on the platform (201.45), while Mitch Beerse (Morrow, Ohio/Little Miami) was the top male on the three-meter (238.58).
