The University of Cincinnati track & field program made their presence known at the Armory Track Invitational in New York City as UC garnered eight top-eight finishes and advanced two student-athletes to an event final. On top of that, a pair of Bearcats broke school records in the either specific events.

One highlight of the meet came towards the end of day one when Kelsey Mueller broke the UC school record in the 1,000-meter run. The Cincinnati native crossed the finish line in a time of 2:50.48 to break Jenna Heaton's old school record time of 2:52.32 from 2011. Watch Mueller's record-breaking race HERE.

The other main highlight came from the men's shot put as Macklin Tudor re-broke his own school record by over a foot. The junior hurled the shot 59' 4.75" to set a new career best and win the event.

Distance runner Toby Loveridge also impressed as he clocked the third fastest 5,000-meter run time in Bearcats history. The Brit raced to a time of 14:31.27 for a new personal best and finished fourth overall. Watch Loveridge's race HERE.

Fellow distance runner Dan Huben also garnered a top-eight finish as he took seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a new personal best time of 8:36.23. Watch Huben's race HERE.

UC excelled in the 60-meter hurdles as Je'Rica Sanders advanced to Saturday's final on the women's side and Bryan Cain advanced to tomorrow's final on the men's side.

Sanders won her first race of the day with a time of 8.55, and she came back in the semifinals with a career best time of 8.38, which moves her to second in UC's records book. Monica Hundley holds the school record at 8.31, which she set in 2008. Sanders will race in the finals which are slated for 4:33 p.m. on Saturday and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network. Cain finished second in his preliminary race with a time of 8.00. He then followed that up with a career best time of 7.87 in the semifinals. His time keeps him third in UC history behind David Payne (7.62, 2005) and Terrence Somerville (7.63, 2011). Cain's final is scheduled for 4:38 p.m. on Saturday, and it will be live on the NBCSN. Senior Nick Kowaleski had a strong showing in the 60-meter dash as he clocked a 6.90 in both the prelims and the semifinals. Unfortunately, his semifinal time was not fastest enough to advance to Saturday's final. Watch Kowaleski's preliminary race HERE.

Cincinnati racked up three top-eight finishes in the women's shot put with Frida Akerstrom leading the way with a third-place finish. Akerstrom came inches shy of breaking her own school record for a second time this season as she tallied a mark of 51' 4.5", just two inches off her career best. Mekayla Breland snatched a fifth-place finish as she threw 49' 5.75", and Leah Heckaman finished eighth with a mark of 47' 1.5".

Junior Kenya Woodall also garnered a top-eight finish as she took sixth in the highly-competitive 400-meter dash. The UC record holder finished in a time of 54.71, which is just over a half second off her career best. Watch Woodall's race HERE.

Day two of the Armory Track Invitational begins around 9 a.m. for the Bearcats with the women's weight throw and women's mile. Two feature events for UC will be the women's elite high jump, where Erika Hurd will compete against some of the best jumpers in the United States, and the women's invitational 400, where Kenya Woodall competes against the top sprinters in the nation.

Tomorrow's events can be watched live at USATF.TV from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. From 4:30 p.m. and on, the meet will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network.
