HOUSTON - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team battled back to pull out a thrilling 76-73 double overtime victory on the road against Houston Wednesday evening.



CINCINNATI 76 (4-11, 1-3), HOUSTON 73 (6-9, 1-3)



// THE SHORT STORY: Following a back-and-forth second half, the Bearcats found themselves trailing by five with just 1:21 to play in the first overtime period. Bianca Quisenberry (Springfield, Ohio/Tecumseh) stepped up for UC, hitting a pair of free throws and adding another bucket and free throw to send the game to a second extra frame. UC scored the first three points of the second overtime and never looked back, outscoring the Cougars 7-4 during the five-minute span to earn a 76-73 win.

Standing out among several career-high performances was Marley Hill's (Cleveland, Ohio/ Columbus Africentric) 28 points. Quisenberry scored eight of her 10 points during the pair of overtime periods

- UC posted the first run of the game, scoring six straight points to take a 13-8 lead at the 13:55 mark of the first half.
- Houston took their largest lead of the first half following a 7-0 spurt that gave the Cougars a 25-17 advantage with 7:47 remaining in the frame.
- The Bearcats were able to cut into the lead before halftime after outscoring Houston 7-2 during a two minute and 39 second span.
- UC took the lead for the first time in the second half following a 7-1 spurt that included scores from Marley Hill, Jasmine Whitfield and Brandey Tarver.
- The two teams traded 5-0 scoring runs to account for the only scoring in the first overtime period. Houston scored the first five points before UC answered with five points during the final 59 seconds.
- UC added the first three points of the overtime frame and won by the same margin. Neither team added a point during the final 1:11 of the game.

- UC set a new season-high scoring mark with 76 points, topping the 73 points scored against Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the season opener.

// INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
- Marley Hill set a new career high in scoring with 28 points, surpassing her previous career mark of 21 set during the season opener against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
- The 28 points mark the 10th time this season and the 13th time in her career she has recorded double-digit points. It also marks her second 20-point plus game and her seventh double-double of the season, grabbing 13 rebounds.
- Jasmine Whitfield tied her career-high scoring output with 24 points. She previously recorded that total during the season opener against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
- Two UC players reached the 20-point plateau in the same game for the second time season. Jasmine Whitfield and Marley Hill each achieved the feat in the Arkansas Pine-Bluff game.
- Chelsea Jamison pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds, surpassing her previous career high of nine set against NKU. It marks the third time this year she has set a career mark in rebounding.
- Bianca Quisenberry recorded her fourth game this season and eighth of her career with double-digit points. Eight of her 10 points came during the first and second overtime periods.
- Brandey Tarver tied a pair of career-best marks with six rebound and three assists.
