CINCINNATI -
University of Cincinnati football associate head coach/co-defensive coordinator Robert Prunty was named the American Athletic Conference Recruiter of the Year by Scout.com.
Prunty, in his third year at UC, has taken home a recruiter of the year award in each of the last five years from Scout.com.
"It's a great honor to be associated with so many wonderful coaches and recruiters," Prunty said. "It's not just me though, I am part of a great team at UC. From our Head Coach Tommy Tuberville to the rest of our assistant coaches and support staff and especially our recruiting staff, Greg Bruner, Blaise Taggart and Jena Bushelman. They all share in this honor with me."
The Scout.com report said: There may not be a more celebrated recruiter on the list, as he has been a consistent selection on the Scout list over the past four years. For the second consecutive year he takes home the honors to Cincinnati, which finished with the No. 1 rated class in the conference. He has also been tabbed as the Big 12 Recruiter of the Year twice at Texas Tech. Over the past four seasons he has ran point for 48 signings at those two programs, including six this class. Impressive numbers for the Associate Head Coach/Co-Defensive Coordinator.
Prunty is a 22-year coaching veteran with strong ties to the east coast of the United States. He previously served as the head coach at Hargrave Military Academy where 27 of his former players went on to play in the NFL.
