PONTIAC, Mich. -- The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team got a hat trick from freshman Brianna Miller, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats dropped a 17-8 decision at Detroit on Friday afternoon.

19:15 1st - Annie Mendoza (UDM)
Mendoza scored to cap a 5-0 Detriot run to open the game. Birney and Julie Castner each scored twice before Mendoza's score put the Titans up, 5-0.

19:07 1st - Michelle Platz (UC)
Platz scored her first of two goals to halt the Titan run. She was followed shortly by Abby Lord (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) as the Bearcats cut the deficit to 5-2.

23:15 2nd - Courtney Curtis (UC)
Courtney Curtis (Mason, Ohio/Mason), UC's leading scorer entering the match, was held off the scoreboard until early in the second half. Her goal cut the Cincinnati deficit to 11-6, but it was as close as the Bearcats would get.

21:31 2nd - Kylie Birney (UDM)
Birney scored her fourth goal of the game to open Detroit's second big scoring run. This time, it was a 6-0 run that put the contest out of reach at 17-6 with just 2:51 remaining.
