CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior defensive back Adrian Witty (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach) was granted a sixth year of eligibility Monday after the NCAA approved his request for an extension of eligibility waiver.

In addition, Cortez Broughton (Warner Robins, Ga./Veterans), Clemente Casseus (Miami, Fla./Everglades), Tion Green (Sanford, Fla./Lake Brantley), Kevin Mouhon (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) and Hosey Williams (Miami, Fla./Southridge/ASA College) all received medical hardships for the 2014 season from the American Athletic Conference and will maintain their 2014 eligibility entering the 2015 season.

Witty missed participation opportunities in both 2010 and 2014 at Cincinnati. Based on contemporaneous medical documentation and the granting of a medical hardship waiver for the 2014 season by the conference office, the NCAA staff approved the granting of a sixth year of eligibility for Witty to utilize during the 2015 season.

He earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in December 2013 and is working towards a master's degree in health education--exercise/fitness.

Witty is UC's most experienced DB, having played cornerback, safety and nickel during his UC career. In 41 career games, he has tallied 90 tackles, including 6.5 for a loss, three sacks, seven PBUs and an interception.

The Bearcats are scheduled to begin spring ball on Feb. 27, 2015 with the 15-practice session closing out on April 4. UC will hold its spring game on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. ET inside the Sheakley Athletics Center. More details will be announced in the coming weeks on GoBEARCATS.com.
