CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team dropped a 12-9 decision to Niagara on a frigid Friday afternoon at Gettler Stadium.

27:04 1st - Dani Tunnell (UC)
Tunnell opened the scoring with an unassisted goal not quite three minutes into the game to spot the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.

6:37 1st - Brianna Miller (UC)
Miller scored the second of consecutive free positions goals, just 37 second after Helmrath scored the first, to tie the game at 4-4.

0:40 1st - Carrie-Jo Farrugia (NIA)
Farrugia scored on a pass from Erin Patenaude to put the Purple Eagles up for good, 5-4, with just 40 seconds left in the half. It was the first of two huge goals for the visitors before the break, as Hannah Barnett scored 20 seconds later to make it 6-4.

14:05 2nd - Courtney Curtis (UC)
Curtis netted the third of three-straight Bearcats goals to cut Niagara's lead to 10-8. The three-goal outburst was over just one minute, 53 seconds, and first saw goals from Abby Lord (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) and Tunnell.

10:44 - Taylor Wolf (NIA)
Wolf netted her fourth goal of the game on a free position to halt Cincinnati's scoring run and put the Purple Eagles up three, 11-8, with just over 10 minutes left. It halted UC's momentum and helped the Purple Eagles clinch the 12-9 victory.

The Bearcats play a pair of home games next week. Stetson visits Gettler Stadium for a 3 p.m. contest on Wednesday, March 4, before Presbyterian comes calling on Sunday, March 8, for a 2 p.m. game. The Hatters and Blue Hose will also play each other at Gettler on Friday, March 6, at Noon.
