O'Kelley Finishes Tied for 44th in Tallahassee

University of Cincinnati sophomore Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) finished tied for 44th place at 3-over par 72-72-75=219 on Sunday at the Seminole Intercollegiate at the Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Florida.

O'Kelley's three-round total is one stroke off his season-best score of 218 carded when he tied for 27th place at the Bearcat Invitational on Oct. 7.

Senior Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) and senior John Michael O'Toole (Pinson, Ala./Pinson Valley High School/Central Alabama CC) tied for 55th place at 222. Howard struggled on the final day, finishing 74-70-78=222 while O'Toole was 1-over 73 on Sunday to finish 78-71-73=222.

Other Bearcats participating included senior Baxter Reeves (Montgomery, Ala./Brewbaker Tech/Central Alabama CC), who finished 80th at 77-80-74=231, and freshman Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School), who ended the tournament tied for 88th at 78-78-83=239.

East Tennessee State's Gudmundur Kristjansson won medalist honors after carding a 17-under 63-67-69=199.

Tournament host Florida rallied for the team title, posting a 284-288-271=843 score. East Tennessee State was second at 276-288-282=846. The Bearcats finished 15th in the team standings at 301-291-300=892. The competitive field includes four squads ranked in the top 10 of GolfStat rankings.

UC returns to action at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship, April 6-7, in West Point, Mississippi.
