Senior Kaitlyn Good and freshman Alex Bloom got the University of Cincinnati track & field programs off to a good start at the opening day of the Tennessee Relays on Thursday afternoon in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Good ended day one of the women's heptathlon in first place with a day one career-high 3,132 points. Bloom sits in fourth after the first day of the men's decathlon, which is the first of his collegiate career, with 3,422 points.

Good started the heptathlon competition off with two career best marks as she crossed the line at 14.97 in the 100-meter hurdles and cleared 5' 7" in the high jump. Her day one point total of 3,132 of is a personal best through four events. Day two and the final day of the heptathlon competition begins at 10 a.m.

In his first career decathlon, Bloom sits fourth overall with 3,422 points after five events. Day two and the final day of the decathlon begins at 9 a.m.
