University of Cincinnati senior John Michael O'Toole (Pinson, Ala./Pinson Valley High School/Central Alabama CC) recorded a 2-over par 74 Sunday to finish tied for 19th at 2-over 75-69-74=218 at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana.

O'Toole was 4-over after eight holes and again after 12 holes before going 2-under during his last six holes with a pair of birdies.

The finish marks O'Toole third top-25 result in a row and the seventh since the start of the fall season. O'Toole tied for 22nd place at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship on April 7 and tied for second at the Hoosier Invitational last week.

O'Toole tied with two other players for 19th place in Toledo's Otto Black (2-over 73-72-73=218) and Georgia Regents' Robin Petersson (70-75-73=218). A pair of players from Illinois, Thomas Detry (10-under 69-67-70=206) and Charlie Danielson (10-under 67-65-74=206), shared medalist honors.

Cincinnati finished 11th in the team standings at 25-over 292-293-304=889. Sixth-ranked Illinois ran away from the 15-team field winning the event by 32 strokes at 35-under 276-268-285=829 on the Kampen Course (par 72, 7,465 yards) at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.

UC junior Emerson Newsome (Dacula, Ga./Mill Creek High School) registered his best three-round score since last spring, tying for 29th place at 5-over 72-74-75=221. Playing in his first tournament of the 2015 spring season, Newsome finished with the second-best tournament score on the team.

UC sophomore Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) tied for 36th place at 7-over 71-76-76=223. Senior Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) ended the event tied for 51st place at 12-over 75-74-79=228. Fellow senior Baxter Reeves (Montgomery, Ala./Brewbaker Tech/Central Alabama CC) tied for 78th place at 22-over 74-79-85=238.

Cincinnati next competes in the American Championship, April 26-28, in Lecanto, Florida.
