// HURD GETS REDEMPTION, GRABS FIRST TEAM HONORS
Hurd, who finished tied for 15th at the NCAA Indoor Championships, got redemption on Saturday at Hayward Field as she cleared 5' 11.75" to tie for seventh. Her seventh-place finish is the highest ever for a UC female in the high jump, and it is the highest place in any event for a UC female since 2012 when Kathy Klump grabbed sixth in the 800m.
Saturday capped off Hurd's best collegiate season by garnering two All-America honors and qualifying for both the USATF Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
// ABRAHAMSSON JUMPS TO EARN SECOND TEAM DISTICTION
Abrahamsson made a name for herself on Saturday as she jumped 41' 10.75" to place 13th out of 24 and grab Second Team All-America honors in the triple jump. The Swedish freshman was the second highest finisher in her class after Keturah Orji of Georgia, who won the national title. Abrahamsson was also the highest finisher from the American Athletic Conference.
Abrahamsson closes out a fantastic freshman campaign where she set both the indoor and outdoor school records in the triple jump. She also finished fourth indoors and outdoors at the conference championships.
