GCAA Release
The University of Cincinnati men's golf team has been named a 2015 All-academic team, the Golf Coaches Association of America recently announced.
Cincinnati is one of 90 Division I teams to post a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the 2014-15 academic year. Connecticut and East Carolina were the other two American Athletic Conference teams to earn the accolade.
A total of 169 teams in all divisions, including junior colleges, submitted a GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition. To be eligible for the honor, a college or university must submit the GPA for each player on its official squad for the academic year.
John Michael O'Toole (Pinson, Ala./Central Alabama CC) recently was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar by the GCAA. He was one of 206 NCAA Division I golf players to earn the distinction given to juniors or seniors who participate in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds, own a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
